PUMA got a little fat ^^

hey guys I'm officially an UNAM student at the faculty of science, I'm studding to become a physicist, the first week has been extremely easy, I hope it stays that way xDD

I got accepted at UAM

Today the UAM published the results from the admission exams, I pass the exam and got accepted at UAM, the UAM is one of the 3 biggest public universities on mexico. The other 2 would be the UNAM (I already got accepted there) and the IPN(the admission exams dates haven't been published yet).

The UAM begins classes on May and the UNAM on August, that means I could stat earlier at the UAM, however the sport facilities at the UNAM is bigger, and the UNAM has a kendo dojo. Now if you remember back on December, I told you my new year's resolution, on the list was "Practice Kendo at least once a week", so been a student at the UNAM would give me the chance to do it :D

The UNAM also has world wide recognition, its even working at the LHC and for a physics student that means a lot, the UNAM its also closer to my apartment than the UAM. Still have to wait 3 months makes me consider the UAM as an option.

Guess I just have to think it well, anyways even if I get into the UAM, I could just drop off on August and get into the UNAM, that would actually be good as it will give an idea of how hard its a physics program at a university level.

Good thing I have a choice here, and both are very good universities, guess I have to organize some kind of party to celebrate this!

Lost another $150 xD

I went yesterday to play blackjack again and I loose it all again. I din't even get to implement my plan on how not loose the winnings.

I played blackjack against a computer not an actual dealer, and this computer seems to have unlimited good luck as the following scenarios happened a lot of times; I will have 20 and there fore stand on the 20 as the probability of getting an AS its extremely low and the dealer have something like 2 and the face down card, there fore ones hopes gets high as its very probably she will burst. well she got 2 and the face down card happend to be an 8 and then when she hit she happend to get an AS, there fore getting 21!

I know this can happend in real life but not 8 times an hour! let me tell you why I don't trust this machines, here in mexico casinos are illegal, so technically I din't went to a casino yesterday, but to a bar that happens to have hundreds of machines to gamble. so these places and the machines are in a loophole on the legal system. That implies that there is no law regulating the gambling machines, so this machine can have a 10 and a 6, and make everybody think that its going to burst, and dealer must hit on all 16, but it happened to get an AS so she could stand on it, obviously that only happened if that was necessary to win the highest beat, if not it would have enough luck to get a 5 and beat us all on the table.

Lost $150 at blackjack :(

I'm currently on Veracruz, the city where my dad lives. its warm as hell, the internet is terrible slow and quite boring for my interests, but not everything is boring, today my father, my brother and I went to a casino. There we played blackjack, I started with 100 pesos, playing with the table's minimum; 10 pesos. after a while I lost it all. so I take 50 pesos out and play them with the table's minimum as well. In a little while I got 200 pesos, I should have stand up and got home but I was persuade to stay and keep playing.

It din't take to much time for me to loose it all again. If I had gone home with the $200, I would have had a $50 profit, but since I din't do it, I ended up loosing 150 in total.

tomorrow I'm going again, this time I will "play smart" to see if I manage to make some profit. will tell you what happens tomorrow.
